Last night, I joined a small panel of narrators and studio directors to speak at a seminar on audiobook narration. The evening was presented by Boston area vocal coach Wren Ross for her Success Network of students. The purpose of the talk was to inform a group who are already advanced in voice-over skills about what they would need to work as audiobook narrators. Topics ranging from time management to studio equipment and character voices were covered. It's hard to be encouraging while telling a room full of voice-over people that they have to learn a whole new set of skills to pursue audiobooks. Seminar host Wren Ross wrote, "I thought you gave a realistic and yet optimistic perspective. And you brought your fabulous humor to the table as well. It was a great night!"
